We are excited to announce that Doctor Mark Restey VMD is providing
veterinary acupuncture services at our facility one day a week. Doctor Restey
is a veterinary acupuncturist practicing holistic medicine in the Pioneer Valley,
Connecticut and New York area. He studied veterinary acupuncture at the Chi
Institute. His medicine emphasize nutrition as the cornerstone of good health.
He uses acupuncture and Herbal medicine to help treat many medical and
behavioral problems in animals.
Acupuncture treats many medical conditions such as musculoskeletal, skin
respiratory, and gastrointestinal problems. By inserting needles into specific
points on the body acupuncture produces certain physiological changes
allowing the body to heal itself. Some of these changes include nerve
stimulation, release of hormones, and increase in blood circulation. In most
causes the insertion of the acupuncture needles into the patient is painless.
Most patients respond by becoming relaxed and often sleepy.
